This is different from your usual stuff, so sinister and mysterious. But really atmospheric, I can totally see it in a game. Good job :)
I improvised a bunch of Americana type guitar tracks for the game Zed Exodus II. This one is a more layered rendition one of them.

I spent weeks trying to do vocals for this.

I really liked what I heard of that on that sampler track as well as the other stuff.

Composition originally made in Dreams and a first attempt at playing with some free libraries from Kontakt and Spitfire

Such a beautiful composition. And the sound libraries you used are so expressive! The solo cello sounds especially amazing. Really fun to see a Dreams classic re-imagined this way
rakeogh:
Thanks! Yes the cello is a free pack in Spitfire Labs called Cello Moods.
I also used some of the free BBC Symphony Orchestra also by Spitfire. Great to have these as the one thing that most DAWs don't seem to have out of the box is good orchestral instruments.
Some of the Kontakt ones I think I bought in a bundle ages ago but have only now got around to using them.

DJ Frags
A post rock shoegazey type track made in Dreams which samples elements of two tracks from DJ Frags and remastered in Reaper.
My first attempt at remastering outside Dreams. Difficult decisions to make with such a loud track of so many layers and different sounds.

Such a dynamic track. It gets small, and it gets massive, and it sounds great at both ends of the spectrum!
rakeogh:
Thanks! I had trouble with this one as I decided to split the recording into stems and forgot about the whole time shift with Dreams running at 30hz
cfulljames:
Yeah it can be a pain! Anything with keyframes or non-audio gadgets renders a teensy bit different every time. I've found that doing a quick save before rendering each stem (after soloing the tracks) at least eliminates the little offsets introduced by the auto-saves, but it's still not perfect :/
rakeogh:
I thought most of the problems I had were drift with longer takes and I used a little bit of time stretch to correct it. I didn't think about the keyframes. I should try and do a count in and count out next time to see if it's snapped to the grid and if the drift is consistent.
cfulljames:
In my experience the drift is usually caused by the auto saves. If I quick save before hand, it usually lines up to the grid perfectly

Ah yes, that guitar is a chocolate topping that completes this cheesecake :)

I totally forgot about this one. I started it as a Saturday morning cartoon tune and Keogh took it to the next level.

Very chill indeed.
Love the delays and infinite reverb effects as it gives more space to the guitars. It even harmonizes with itself at points as it bounces left and right!

This is lovely! a section of the melody reminded me of Kappn's Song from Animal Crossing, gave me a sense of gentle adventure~

That synth is giving me nostalgia with the little crackles in it.
Also, that outro fade-out was nicely done as well!

rakeogh:
Thanks, the way that happened was actually a mistake. I did a fade out on the music channel but I had a couple of lofi layers with audio recorded on my headset and they were on a separate channel. Thought it sounded cool though so i kept it haha.
cfulljames:
the 7/8 groove is so fun and cozy!

Thanks! Had a lot of fun with this one ^_^
