Humanity is pushed into the outer limits of the atmosphere as a result of their own destruction. With a glimmer of hope in the form of a wetware nanochip called the HAL-0, they are able to survive the harshest of weather conditions. Still, they are forced to rebuild civilization from the ashes as the last remaining 1000 on the planet. The rogue war-machines below are unable to deliver the final blow as perpetual acid rain creates a barrier between the earth and the sky. Yet, a new threat emerges from beyond the stars as constructs of inorganic origin begin their assault on the inhabitants of this new society; the one they call the Heliosphere.
